The teacher begins the lesson by revisting profiles of stars and students have to guess from the Spanish descriptions on the board who the stars are. The teacher uses the target language throughout.  They are then reminded of the question words they will need for today’s lesson which enlivens the topic of giving and providing personal information by setting it in the context of speed dating. The teacher is careful to check that the students know the English for the question words so that they can all make effective use of them. Use is made of a home-made drag and drop revision exercise which focuses the attention of the class on the key language required for the lesson.
