About the event

A major national conference focusing on the teaching and learning of languages 14-19, run by CILT, the National Centre for Languages.

As well as keynote sessions on issues of national importance such as languages and the Diplomas, and a panel of experts responding to Language Trends 2008, delegates will have the opportunity to choose from a large number of workshops on a range of topics relevant to 14-19 language teaching. These include interesting sessions on such topics as the new GCSE and A level courses, a range of alternative accreditations and awards to motivate students in KS4, business links, the new Masters in Teaching and Learning and Routes into Languages. There will also be a selection of hands-on ICT sessions facilitated by those who have used ICT successfully in their teaching of MFL.

The conference is designed for Heads of Languages and languages teachers in the 14-19 sector in secondary, sixth form or FE contexts.  Those involved in consultancy and advisory work in languages will also find attendance very beneficial.
