Whichever sector of education you work in, as a languages teacher you will have special professional development requirements. As the national centre of expertise on all aspects of language learning and teaching, CILT, the National Centre for Languages is well placed to provide you with the sort of opportunities that will help you in your work and stand you in good stead in your future career.

In the last few years, through our Comenius Network and Regional support groups for Early Language Learning, we have been developing a much more regional approach. This ensures that wherever you are in the country, you can access training, networking and support that is part of a national strategy to improve the offer to learners of languages of all ages.

We also continue to run a range of national events as well as our popular and highly-regarded courses abroad. Dairy Dates provides a ‘rough guide’ to the full range of opportunities now available through CILT and its networks. We hope you will be in touch and find our services useful over the coming year.

Are your language skills in need of refreshment? CILT offer Comenius-funded residential courses in France, Germany, Spain and Italy that give you the chance to refresh not only your language skills but also your cultural knowledge and enthusiasm for the language.

Booking a place

To apply for a CILT training course please download, complete and return an application form (pdf, 37kB) to CILT, the National Centre for Languages, 20 Bedfordbury, Covent Garden, London, WC2N 4LB. To apply for a course abroad please download and complete the courses abroad application form (pdf, 26kB) and return to the CILT address.
