European Award for Languages - 2004 Winner
International Journeyman ™
This three-phase project aims to tackle the engineering skills shortage
by improving the employability of young people while introducing them
to a new cultural experience. Participants are aged between seventeen
and twenty-one and are training for an Advanced Modern Apprenticeship
in Engineering in Sunderland.
Phase one includes on the job training with language classes and phase two involves a preparatory period of one month abroad. The third phase consists of a two-year high-level engineering apprenticeship in France with language training.
