Special Prizes 2005
All Award winners receive prizes of books, vouchers or teaching materials
from a range of sponsors as well
as a certificate signed by the European Commissioner for Education and
Culture and a DfES Minister.
In addition, a number of special prizes are awarded:
BMW Business Language Prize
For the best project developing language provision to match the needs
of business and employers, prize of £1,000. Winner: International

For the best project involving community languages, prize of £1,000.

For the best project involving adult learners (including higher education).

The Mary Glasgow Award
Each year one of the winning projects is selected by the Mary Glasgow Language Trust to receive its annual award of £1,000 – the winner of which is announced at the Award ceremony.
Winner: International
Business Week
Mary Glasgow founded the Mary Glasgow Language Trust after a lifetime
in languages, as a teacher, HM Inspector of Schools and later as a publisher,
and the work of the Trust continues in her memory. Trustees are represented
on the panel of judges and their criteria for choosing the winner are
the same as those for the European Award.
