'The French Embassy in London supports the teaching and learning of not only French but also of all other languages. We have been working closely these last years with CILT and the organisers of the European Award for Languages and we will continue to do so. We believe these awards are an enormous help to all people involved in promoting language learning in the UK'.

The aims of the French Cultural Department and the French Institute in London are to promote French language and culture in the UK. We do so by working closely with other institutions such as CILT, the National Centre for Languages, the British Council, the DFES etc. We also offer to the public possibilities to watch French and European films in the Institute, as well as to borrow books in our library. The Language Centre is also well known and teaches French to about 6500 students a year.
