Languages mean business DVD

Published by CILT Cymru, with support from the Welsh Assembly Government

A film-based resource which explores the use of foreign languages in the workplace, highlighting the enhanced career opportunities of employees with language skills. It features:

• profiles of five multinational companies in Wales, outlining the types of posts which require foreign language skills;
• profiles of key employees within those organisations, including interviews showing how their language skills are used at work – both at home and abroad;
• careers information and Web links;information on inward-investors in Wales that need MFL skills in their workforce.

It is aimed at students aged 16–19 years and adult learners, and is designed for use:

• in the MFL curriculum;
• in Careers Guidance;
• in Business Studies to enhance the European and global dimension of the curriculum, relating to European citizenship and mobility of labour;
• as part of the Welsh Baccalaureate – 'Wales and the World'.

It can be viewed on a computer or DVD player – individually or in groups.
