Languages Ladder defines competence in a range
of linguistic skills for learners of all ages. The exciting new
assessment scheme for the Ladder will be available from September

CILT Language and Cultural Immersion Courses Abroad
CILT runs a number of language and cultural immersion courses abroad
for primary and secondary teachers of French, German, Italian and
Spanish. The full course fee may be recoverable through the European
Union's Socrates-Comenius 2.2 programme. For further information,

KS2 funding announcement
£115
million will be spent on the National Languages Strategy in the
next three years, of which considerable sums will be directed towards
realising the KS2 entitlement. The announcement was made by Stephen
Twigg, Minister of State for School Standards, at CILT’s annual
Primary Languages Show in Manchester on March 11. The show's attendance
leapt again, with 420 delegates on the Friday and 350 on the Saturday.
