Comenius North East in association with ALL: Competition for schools - A postcard to the world
To mark the European Day of Languages on 26 September 2008, Comenius North East invites schools to participate in its competition, run in collaboration with the Association for Language Learning.
Pupils are asked to design a postcard and write a postcard message in any language they are learning, or know, on the theme of: A postcard to the world
The entries should be clearly marked with the pupil’s name, age, class and school, as well as any necessary information about the language chosen (i.e. if it is a less widely learned language) to facilitate judging.
Entries are to be sent to: Michael Wardle, CYPS, County Hall, Durham, DH1 5UJ
The intention is that this might form an activity on the European Day of Languages itself, so the deadline will be: 5 October 2007
£35 HMV vouchers will be offered to the winners; there will be one winner for each key stage, up to and including KS5. Runner-up prizes of EDL resources (badges, stickers t-shirts etc) will also be awarded.
