About the event
An annual conference designed for all those involved in supporting trainees on primary and secondary initial teacher education programmes for MFL, run by CILT, the National Centre for Languages. The CILT annual ITE conference has a long history of bringing together those involved in the development and training of teachers

This year CILT has balanced the number of contributions from the two sectors so that colleagues will be able to work in discussion with those specialising in their area of interest. A selection of sessions on primary/secondary transition will allow colleagues to share ideas across different sectors.

There will be opportunities to meet and share ideas with colleagues in workshops which will include practical input for ITE programmes. Over the past 3 years we have been developing, as part of this conference, ways of putting active researchers in touch with their peers and vice versa. Our popular ‘In conversation with…’ series will put delegates in touch with researchers working in the field.

Who is the Conference for?
This annual conference is for all those involved in supporting trainees on primary and secondary initial teacher education programmes for MFL. The conference is appropriate for teacher trainers on MFL PGCE, SCITT and GTP and for mentors who work in partnership with any of these. Those involved in research in this sector will also find much to stimulate their thinking.
