Be INSPIRED! by European Projects

Thursday 5 July 2007, 16.00 - 18.30

Comenius Centre (Yorkshire and the Humber)
Trinity and All Saints, Leeds

INSPIRE

About the course

A free after-school event giving participants the opportunity to:

  • try out results of European projects relevant to them;
  • hear from colleagues who have run successful Comenius projects in the past;
  • find out how their school could become involved in European projects in the future.

Every year scores of education projects involving languages are funded by the European Union. Many of these produce interesting and innovative materials, methodologies and experiences useful to other language teachers, if only they got to hear about them.

EU projects of many different kinds and sizes, from hosting a Comenius assistant to projects involving exchange of teachers or learners or collaborative production of resources can be a very positive experience for a school.

This event will give teachers from the Leeds area an opportunity to:

  • hear from colleagues who have had successful experiences in the past with EU projects (what they did, how they did it and any tips);
  • get hands-on experience of online resources from EU projects – selected to be relevant to them;
  • find out more about how they and their school could become involved in EU projects in the future.

Participants will have the opportunity to talk informally over refreshments and will have a take-home list of references to access resources from EU projects in the
future.

NB: This course is offered free as part of the INSPIRE dissemination project. To register, participants need to:

  • complete a brief needs analysis questionnaire which will allow the workshop leaders to choose a selection of resources relevant to them.
  • be willing to be contacted for a brief follow up questionnaire (by phone or e-mail) in the autumn.

Limited places available – first come first served registration.
