CILT have just recently returned from two of their eight annual courses abroad, Vive la France à Besançon and Italiano alla Fiorentina.

Both course are aimed at higher level language learners at A-level and upwards and concentrate of improving the linguistic, cultural and pedagogic competence of the participants. 

The Italian course is based at the British Institute on the banks of the River Arno in Florence and the Vive la France course is based at the Centre de Linguistique Appliquée in the heart of Besançon.

Both courses are always very well received and this year was no exception.  The participants get a mixture of language classes, excursions and contemporary talks on lifestyle and culture throughout the week.  All participants stay in homestay accommodation which means that the immersion and learning does not stop when they leave class!  The participants love living with host families, surrounding themselves in the target language and at the same time making lifelong friends!

These courses run every year & get more & more popular each time.  If you’re interested in attending these or any of our courses abroad, please contact conferences@cilt.org.uk for more details.  Participants can apply for a grant through the Comenius Professional Development or Grundtvig programmes to contribute towards the cost of all of our courses abroad.
