CILT Cymru, the National Centre for Languages is the national
centre of expertise on language teaching in Wales. Established in
2002 as part of the CILT network, CILT Cymru has been given a key
role in implementing 'Languages Count', the Welsh Assembly
Government strategy for Modern Foreign Languages. CILT Cymru's
office is in Cardiff Bay.
Y Ganolfan Genedlaethol ar Ieithoedd (CILT Cymru) yw'r ganolfan
arbenigedd genedlaethol ar addysgu ieithoedd. Sefydlwyd CILT Cymru
yn 2002 fel rhan o rwydwaith CILT, a rhoddwyd swyddogaeth allweddol
iddi yn y gwaith o weithredu 'Ieithoedd Sy'n Cyfrif', Strategaeth

The Scottish Centre for Information on Language
Teaching and Research (Scottish CILT) is the national centre
for languages in Scotland. The centre supports the teaching and
learning of languages and provides information about languages for
students and teachers, opinion formers and policy makers by:
- supporting and promoting the learning and use of all languages
of relevance to Scotland
- conducting relevant research in support of the work of language
teachers and other language professionals.
Scottish CILT receives a grant from the Scottish Government to
fund its core activities.

NICILT is a partnership between CILT, the National Centre for
Languages (London), and Queen's University Belfast with funding
from the Department of Education
for Northern Ireland. It is part of a UK-wide network of
institutions all offering a range of services to teachers and
learners of modern languages.
NICILT aims to serve all sectors and stages of education in
Northern Ireland and support the implementation of national
objectives in language learning and teaching. This includes,
where appropriate, support for early language learning, for the
post-16 sector and for adult education.
