We are an educational Charity, dedicated to the creation of a
society in which everyone recognises the value of languages and
intercultural relationships and is able to use more than one
language.
We work to convince people of all ages, at all stages of
learning and in all walks of life, of the benefits of learning and
using more than one language. We do this by using our expertise as
the National Centre for Languages to influence policy and practice
and to support the development of language professionals. In
everything we do, we aim to inspire people to develop a life-long
appreciation of languages and cultures.

Equal Opportunities Statement
CILT, the National Centre for Languages affirms its opposition
to unfair discrimination in employment, and expresses its
commitment to a comprehensive policy of equal opportunity.
To this end, CILT, through its management, will endeavour to
ensure that selection, placement, training and promotion of staff
are all based solely on the criteria of merit and ability and that
no job applicant or member of staff, nor potential contractor or
sub-contractor, receives less favourable treatment on grounds of
ethnic origin or nationality, gender or sexual orientation, marital
status or domestic circumstance, age, or political or religious
belief.
When recruiting, CILT welcomes applications from people with a
disability who have the necessary attributes for the post and will
actively seek to ensure that job descriptions, person
specifications, advertisements and any other documentation relevant
to any post are in no way unfairly discriminatory.
Where appropriate, CILT will develop or in other ways support
programmes of training and development actively designed to promote
equal opportunities, including provision of special training
designed to overcome existing disadvantage.
Download the Equal
opportunities monitoring form and include this with your
application.
