Where can I find materials for studying a language?

A ‘Subject’ search of the online catalogue of the CILT Resources Library will identify the library’s current holdings of materials in a particular language.  A basic criterion for library acquisitions of teaching materials is that they should be in print in the UK (i.e. either published here or with a reliable distribution, if published abroad). Holdings for individual languages will vary (for instance, a search for French [Browse list Subject = FRENCH (MATERIALS)]  offers 969 hits). Examples of Special searches or Special lists, where the needs of a specific group of learners have been identified, can be accessed on the catalogue home page.

A number of the Suppliers listed on the Resources pages of the Primary Languages website cater for other age groups as well, and there is an indication in each entry if the supplier has a particular language specialization, or if their coverage is multilingual. 

While it is obviously not possible to cover all languages here, the following booksellers or distributors also provide for a wide range of languages and for varied age groups in their catalogues and offer a good starting point for research:
