Languages Programme Mentors

CILT, the National Centre for Languages was merged with CfBT Education Trust (Registered Charity: 270901) in April 2011. CfBT Education Trust exists to provide education for public benefit worldwide. It was established 40 years ago and employs 2,650 staff in more than 40 countries around the world. Its work involves teacher and leadership training, curriculum design and school improvement services. The merge of CILT  with CfBT brings together CILT’s expertise in languages, teacher training and its international portfolio with CfBT’s excellent track record in a wider range of educational contexts.

CfBT is currently running a programme to support languages education at both primary and secondary levels, funded by the Department for Education, and is recruiting a number of regionally based Languages Programme Mentors for this programme.

In this role you will work closely with the CfBT Languages Education team and a number of Teaching School Alliances (TSAs). You will support the TSA the production of a cross phase languages development plan and facilitate the development and delivery of a number of projects which aim to both share best practice in languages education and improve standards of the teaching/learning of languages in schools across the country.

The posts will be from 1st March 2012 – 31st March 2013, working on a consultancy basis of an average of 3 days per week during term time and will be located in regions across the country.
