We’re pleased to announce that the new Languages Work website is
now live.
The new website is full of up-to-date
information on careers and languages, and has been designed to help
language learners, teachers and careers professionals understand
the importance of language skills when it comes to finding a
job.
The site has been completely revamped to
include a dedicated area for careers advisers, who we want to work
closely with in conveying crucial messages around languages and
employability to young people. It also has a Learner Zone, full of
information about planning your career, study options, gap years,
working and studying abroad – and, of course, some fun language
activities for you to have a go at.
On top of that, there’ll be case studies of
people using languages in a wide range of jobs, advice about how
languages are used in different employment sectors, the latest news
and statistics about careers and languages and lots of resources
that you can order or download for free, including posters,
postcards, careers factsheets and activity books.
Finally, we’ve created a special careers
e-newsletter which you can sign up for on the site, to keep in
touch with all the latest developments around careers with
languages. This will go out three times a year and will keep you
up-to-date with any Languages Work developments and upcoming
careers events.
We hope that you will find the new and
improved site useful and easy to navigate. We welcome your comments
and feedback – contact us at info@languageswork.org.uk
