CILT is pleased to announce the release of
‘Tools for Schools’ French - a new Key Stage 2 resource designed to
support the teaching and learning of primary languages and save
teachers hours of preparation time.
Given that 2010 is the year of entitlement for
primary languages, it’s more important than ever for teachers
working in the primary phase to have inspirational resources.
‘Tools for Schools’ consists of ready-to-use interactive whiteboard
materials that will help bring languages to life for young
learners.
Therese Comfort, Head of Primary Education at
CILT, said: ‘We’re delighted so many schools have introduced
languages as part of their curriculum. We hope that Tools for
Schools will prove to be invaluable in supporting teachers with
their delivery of engaging lessons, giving children the best
possible start in language learning.’
Tools for Schools has been developed by
language teaching experts and successfully piloted in primary
classrooms. It includes graphics, stories, games and audio files,
all of which follow the QCA Schemes of Work. The resource supports
the development of key skills in listening, speaking, reading and
writing in the new language for both children and teachers.
French Units 1-6 are now available to buy from
the CILT
shop. Look out for more units across French, German and Spanish
in the coming months.
