At CILT, the National Centre for Languages, we seek to
inform, influence, and comment objectively on policy with relevance
for languages and intercultural skills.
We research, consult and
advise on:
- language policy
- education policy as it relates to languages and intercultural
skills, and
- policy in other fields, e.g. international trade, tourism,
etc., where there is a need to make explicit the connection to
languages and intercultural skills
A seminal document in recent
times was the Nuffield Inquiry into Languages (2000).
You can read a summary of the Nuffield Inquiry report, and other key documents
posting-date it in the policy articles section of this website.
Use menu on the left-hand
side of this page to find out more about language policy with
relevance to all sectors.
Alternatively, click on the
sector tabs above to learn about language policy developments in
the fields of most interest to you.
