Consultation is in hand towards a new policy framework, due for
publication in 2009, for the development of Higher Education
(HE) in England.
A set of independent contributions commissioned from individuals
and organisations from the HE sector were published in October
2008.
Papers of particular interest Internationalisation and HE
(Drummond Bone), e-learning (Professor Sir Ron Cooke) and the
contribution from the Chief Executive of KPMG.
Professor Michael Worton, UCL, has been asked
to produce a report by September 2009 to inform decisions
concerning the status of specific languages and area studies
disciplines in HE as 'strategic and vulnerable' - read the
