Alex Zylberberg, Managing Director of
Multilingual Stuff, visited Phoenix Collegiate School in Sandwell
recently to encourage pupils to broaden their horizons by studying
Spanish.
Alex highlighted the important role of Spanish
as a world language which is spoken in Europe, throughout Central
and South America and even Africa and Asia.
He shared his experiences of growing up in
Argentina and using languages in a business setting to encourage
pupils that keeping up their language skills can increase earning
potential and offer greater opportunities in the workplace.
As an IT and languages expert, whose
professional services company helps UK and overseas businesses
develop their international sales, creates multilingual websites
and helps companies to find partners in other countries, Alex is
well placed to demonstrate the importance of language skills and
cultural awareness in the workplace and his experiences struck a
chord with pupils as Barbara Francis a Spanish teacher at Phoenix
Collegiate said:
“The pupils really appreciated meeting
someone from the world of business to let them know more about the
possibilities opened up by knowing another language.”
This visit took place as part of the BLC
programme in the West Midlands and Alex was keen to sing the
praises of Business Language Champions, saying:
“I think this programme is a fantastic
idea because companies like Multilingual Stuff are always looking
for native English speakers who are proficient in other
languages.”
