Flt Sgt Paul Hughes is one of the East Midlands most
popular Business Language Champions and thus he truly deserves the
award he picked up recently for his continued promotion of language
learning.
Paul won the coveted David Crystal Trophy,
which is awarded by the Chartered Institute of Linguists (CIoL) as
the special commendation for the Threlford Memorial Cup. It is
presented to an individual/organisation who is considered to have
made a significant contribution to "Fostering the Study of
Languages".
Paul is pictured receiving his award at the
CIoL awards ceremony in London earlier this month.
His continued promotion of the importance of
languages is shown in his dedication to the BLC programme in the
East Midlands and Paul received some really positive feedback from
his most recent visit to The William Allitt School in
Swadlincote.
One student put in a request for Paul to be
their French teacher, whilst several said he 'changed my attitude
towards languages'.
All in all another great report from our
high-flying BLC!
