Since January 2005 I have been working for the Regional
Language Network West Midlands, providing language support,
guidance and resources for local businesses and individuals.
At the RLN, amongst other things, I flex my PR muscles, maintain
the website and create a bi-monthly ezine.
In recent years my role has expanded to
include project managing the Business Language Champions programme
in the region. I really enjoy bringing schools and businesses
together through the BLC programme and witnessing the change in
attitudes towards languages.
I also work on a part time basis for UKTI East
Midlands as a language and culture assistant as well as running my
own copywriting business and more recently launching a website and
blog design service, which I run with my fiancé.
Writing is a passion of mine, as is languages,
though I admit I will need to brush up on my language skills when I
finally get the time!
When I’m not working I’m enjoying the great
outdoors, exploring and learning from the UK’s many historic
properties, ancient monuments and archaeological finds. So if you
don’t find me at my desk, I am most likely flashing my English
Heritage or National Trust membership card at the entrance to one
of their amazing sites.
I won’t bore you with the rest of the details,
suffice it to say that if you have any queries at all about the BLC
blog please email me at frances.pallett@rln-westmidlands.com
