Teachers in the West Midlands are being invited
to attend a half-day workshop as part of the Fashion International
project. This new project, funded through the LinkedUp award,
helps students to understand the importance of languages in the
world of fashion and encourages them to keep up these skills to
increase their future employability.
The workshop will involve fun, language-based
activities for pupils and give teachers the chance to talk to those
involved in the project and learn more about engaging with local
businesses.
Members of the Fashion International team will
showcase the materials and explain how they
have been created. They will also talk about some of the problems
encountered throughout the project, and how they were overcome.
The judging of the fashion magazines, created
by those schools currently involved in the project, will take place
at the end of the workshop.
This free event takes place in Handsworth,
Birmingham, from 12.30 – 3.00pm on 08 December 2010.
