Business Language Champions across the country are raring to
go for the new academic year and many events are being planned as
we speak to coincide with celebrations for the European Day of
Languages on 26 September.
In the East Midlands plans are being
laid to launch an exciting language project which will commence on
24 September and run for several weeks.
Business Language Champion, Jo Small, from
Optima Training will be working with Year 9 pupils from the Grove
School in Newark to develop presentations and resources that will
encourage others to take up languages.
This ‘Dragon’s Den’-style event will be
launched by The Town Mayor of Newark, Mr. Tony Roberts on 24
September as part of the celebrations for the European Day of
Languages.
Pupils will choose whether to promote language
learning to the general public, primary school children or business
people and then create a poster or leaflet and a presentation,
which will be delivered to a panel of judges at the Cafferata
Suite, Newark Beacon on 4th November.
Jo will be mentoring students throughout the
task and will visit the school on a regular basis to see how pupils
are getting on with their promotional materials.
There are many more ideas in the pipeline so
watch this space for more updates!
