Norfolk MFL Oral Presentation Competition
July saw Norfolk’s first Regional MFL Oral Presentation Competition held at Wymondham College, a recently designated Language College.
Fourteen Norfolk Secondary schools, many of whom had already held internal competitions, were represented with over seventy pupils participating across all Key Stages. Key Stage 3 pupils talked about “Myself”. The theme for Key Stage 4 was “My Dream” whilst Key Stage 5 pupils could present a topic of their choice. The audience was treated to a range of original and often amusing presentations in French, German and Spanish. Judges were Adam Cooke, Secondary Advisor for MFL and Kathy Stocks, Head of Languages and Spanish, Wymondham College. All participants received a certificate with winners in each category receiving an engraved trophy and software prizes kindly donated by Eurotalk. The afternoon was positive celebration of language teaching and learning within the County which we hope to repeat in future years.
If any Language College wishes to run a similar event, please email Jeremy Moyle, Language College Director, at languages@wymondhamcollege.com for further information and documentation.
