CILT, the National Centre for Languages is pleased to announce the appointment of seven new members of its Board of Governors, chaired by Richard Bunker. The new CILT Governors, who join Jim Beale OBE, Anne Farren, Colin Flint, Heather Graham, Terry Lamb, Peter Lehmann, Hilary Munday, Susan Price, Mike Short and Peter Thompson, are listed below:

Uwe Baumann.  Uwe is Head of Department of Languages and Programme Director, Languages Studies Programme at the Open University.

Rob Douglas CBE. Rob is Deputy Chairman of the South East England Development Agency (SEEDA) and chairs its Audit Committee as well as the Surrey Learning & Skills Council.  His languages include Dutch, French and Italian.

Paul Harrison.  Paul is head teacher at Teesdale School, Co. Durham, a mixed 11-19 comprehensive with 811 students.  He holds a degree in French and Linguistics.

Gillian Howland. Gillian is the Executive Director/Area Director of the Birmingham and Solihull Learning & Skills Council.  Her languages are French and German with some Polish.

Jessica Pulay.  Jessica is the Deputy Head of Funding at the European Bank for Reconstruction & Development.  She holds MA and BA Honours Degrees in Modern Languages and speaks fluent English, French and German.

Beverley Salt. Beverley is currently on secondment to the Olympics from AstraZeneca plc, where she had responsibility for Emerging Markets.  She has a Masters in Modern Languages speaks French, German, and Portuguese.

Nick Warren. Nick is Head teacher at Parkroyal Community School in Cheshire.  His specialist language is French and he is currently involved in embedding languages in the Primary Curriculum.  Nick has extensive experience as a head teacher in three schools with over 25 years of service.
