National Show provides support for adult language learning
Booking is now open for this year’s CILT Adult Education Languages Show, which takes place at the University of Derby on Friday 6 June.
The national Show provides an opportunity for language colleagues in adult education to catch up on new developments; share ideas and concerns; meet fellow professionals; find solutions and network with colleagues from across the sector.
The extensive programme of practical workshops and plenary sessions is designed for all those involved in devising and delivering languages programmes for adults, whether through FE colleges, local authorities, specialist schools and academies, voluntary organisations or private providers.
Key themes of this year’s show include: Adult language learning in the national context – now and in the future; The new professional qualifications for teachers; Exploiting IT, video and TV; and Meeting differing learning needs.
This year’s plenary speakers are Sue Meyer, Director for Programmes and Policy, NIACE and Alwena Lamping, Consultant, languages in adult education. The plenaries will cover current developments in adult education and their impact on current and future language learning.
