CILT appoints new CEO

Kathryn Board, current Geographical Director of the British Council, has been appointed to the post of Chief Executive of CILT, the National Centre for Languages.

Ms Board is taking over from Isabella Moore, who left CILT at the end of March after four years.

Ms Board has had a long and distinguished career at the British Council, where she is a member of the senior executive team with overall responsibility for the strategic management of the overseas network. A trained linguist, Kathryn Board ’s career has taken her to postings around the world and she is a strong advocate of languages and their potential role in society.

Ms Board is expected to join CILT this summer.
