Regional Support Groups
CILT supports early language learning at a local level through the NACELL Regional Support Groups (RSGs). These are funded by the DCSF and co-ordinated by CILT, with the aim of promoting and developing language learning in the primary sector and building language teaching capacity in primary schools throughout the regions.
There are 75 RSGs across the country who run free information, training and networking sessions for anyone involved or interested in teaching languages in Nursery, Key Stage 1 or Key Stage 2.
RSGs offer practical support and advice on early language learning through presentations by trainers and practising teachers, updates on regional and national developments and information about publications and courses.
Each RSG runs a minimum of 5 sessions per year and the meetings are an opportunity to share ideas and resources and network with others involved in early language learning.
To find out where your nearest RSG is located and access details of their sessions for the coming year, visit the NACELL website.
