The Lingua Connections guide, website and events will be relevant to anyone co-ordinating or considering a languages project. It will be of specific interest to those involved in projects funded by the European Commission, particularlyas within the new generation of EU programmes, one of the main priorities for languages is 'marketing, publicity and information'. The project aims to help co-ordinators plan and implement successful promotion of their work and will provide a ‘space’ for Lingua co-ordinators to interact. Lingua Connections (in which CILT, the National Centre for Languages is a UK partner) is a network of Lingua co-ordinators whose goal is to collect useful tools and methods for the successful dissemination of language products while creating a forum for all Lingua promoters to meet on-line and exchange ideas about their experiences. The project is co-ordinated by European Cultural Interactions. The Lingua Connections network promotes best practice in the valorisation of language projects, by maximising their impact and sustainability. It is based on the expertise of a network of Lingua project co-ordinators (including CILT, the National Centre for Languages), who have shared their experiences to draw up concise, practical guidelines for the successful dissemination of language project methods and results. The expected impact of the project is mostly at European level and concerns language project promoters, partners, educators, publishers, etc. However, it is clear that the techniques and strategies that the project will be presenting will concern and thus have an impact on a wider public than the Lingua community. The guidelines will be published in nine languages (Bulgarian, Dutch, English, German, Greek, Italian, Lithuanian, Romanian and Swedish) and will also be available on-line from the Lingua Connections website. The site also contains a showcase of projects and tools to help partners in the successful dissemination of their projects and results. If you are a project co-ordinator, whether it is at local, national or European level, the Lingua Connections guide to successful promotion can help you increase the impact of your language projects. If you are interested in receiving the Lingua Connections guide and/or attending a Lingua Connections event please let us know.
