Introduction

CILT is committed to supporting research, particularly by relating it ever more closely to the information and training side of our work.

In particular we aim to:

• bring researchers and practitioners into closer contact with each other, so that each benefits from the other's expertise both face-to-face and on-line through electronic discussion groups;
• disseminate the results of research relating to languages education through conferences, publications and the Web;
• encourage teachers to be involved in action research projects in their own classrooms;
• provide facilities for researchers through the CILT Resources library.
