ABC awards has Awards and Certificates, available at different levels depending on the individual languages and based upon the UK Occupational Language Standards, on the Qualifications and Credit Framework.  There are 18 different languages available, in both Roman and non Roman scripts and include British Sign Language. Qualifications are available from Entry Level 2 up to Level 3. Check the ABC web site to see what is available at each level. Centres wishing to offer further languages may apply to ABC.

There are separate Awards for Listening and Speaking and Reading and Writing. Together they can form a Certificate in Practical Spanish / Polish / Japanese etc, each language providing a different qualification.

All units are internally assessed, and internally and externally moderated. Sample assessments are available for use if centres wish to use them, but centres are free to develop their own assessment activities to suit individual circumstances and learners.
