Business meets languages event
Key objectives of this event were to promote language learning by emphasising the importance of languages in the world of work and increase uptake of languages in KS4 and post 16. The event involved pupils from four schools in years 9 and 10.

Languages in Additional/Specialist Learning of the Creative and Media diploma
The school has introduced Asset Languages into the Diploma ASL. This is timetabled with Post 16 Enrichment so that this course has a mixture of Year 10, 12 and 13 students working together.

The positive effects of collaboration - collaborative clusters to develop alternative accreditations and languages in the Diplomas
The aim of establishing a 14-19 Learning Network in Hampshire was to address the issue of transition in the context of language study and so promote high-quality and appropriately varied provision across the county.

The Diploma in Engineering with French
The plan was to run French with the Diploma and involve Sixth Form Science students as St Augustine's is a Science and Maths Specialist College. Therefore it has developed into an Engineering project with French and Science.

French for the Higher Engineering Diploma
This pilot group of 11 students in key stage 4 are currently studying for their Higher Diploma in Engineering and are taking French NVQ level 2 as additional units. The students will take part in a two week work experience in France in the summer as part of the course.

German in the Hospitality and Catering Diploma
A small group of 8 students who initially found languages challenging are taking Level 2 NVQ language units linked to the Higher Hospitality and Catering Diploma. The series of lessons and resources have been produced are designed specifically to complement this Diploma line.
