contexts with beginner students of Spanish for Air Cabin

Once they begin, the students rarely drop out as a strong
importance is placed on their language learning. The Spanish course
is funded using enrichment funding. Although the students are
non-specialist language learners, the whole course is delivered via
the target language using activities relevant to the vocational
context.

Using the Work Placement Toolkit on
a work experience placement
All the pupils were extremely enthusiastic at the end of the trip,
their confidence levels and self-esteem had soared, their
linguistic competence and cultural and business awareness had risen
dramatically and they were all keen to repeat the experience.
Language Enterprise project
The project emphasises the importance of languages in the business
world and allows students to gain advice from bilingual business
people in Kent. This should lead to a greater awareness of the role
of languages in business, the development of skills required in the
world of work, and the motivation to work hard as they start their
GCSE course.
