The NVQ course is based on the National
Language Standards, 2005.
Assessments should be planned based on these standards and
teachers delivering the course may choose to prepare their own
materials based on their locality, businesses with whom they
have links or the specific interests of their students or use
commercially produced ones.

Using the BBC “Talk French” website
The
BBC “Talk

level 1 of the National Language Standards.
Here is a grid
showing coverage of the National Language Standards (Level 1)
(doc, 60KB) for tasks on the BBC “Talk
French” website. This could provide very useful evidence for a
Level 1 portfolio.
Other BBC languages web pages
could be mapped to the standards in a similar way.
Awarding body guidance and specimen
