These tutorials provide step-by-step
training for teachers on how to record and edit audio files using
free software Audacity and an inexpensive USB
microphone.
Recording audio in languages lessons is an
effective way of rehearsing and peer assessing spoken work, raising
pupils’ confidence and improving pronunciation. This tutorial is
designed to show teachers how easy it is to produce good quality
recordings and save them as mp3 files as evidence of this work.
Please note that while there are different
types of microphone available for recording audio, in the opinion
of the tutorial author, a USB 'plug and play' microphone is the
easiest to use because it doesn't require any configuring with the
computer's sound card and produces great results every time.
