Specialist Language Colleges (SLCs)
CILT gives targeted support to individual Language Colleges as part of the Language College support programme. SLCs raise standards of achievement and the quality of teaching and learning in languages for all pupils, using this as a catalyst for whole school improvement.

KS3 MFL Dissemination and Development Programme
A Key Stage 3 programme was launched in January 2007 in the nine regions of England. The programme aims to raise standards in KS3 MFL teaching and learning, through networks of schools supported by regional trainers and lead professionals.

Languages 14-19 in Schools and Further Education
CILT is actively engaged in supporting language development for this age group at all levels in both schools and FE colleges. The 14-19 team seeks to strengthen the accessibility and appeal of traditional progression routes, whilst at the same time fostering exciting, alternative language provision.
CILT conferences and events
CILT Conferences and events
CILT works directly with practising teachers to produce a comprehensive programme of conferences and training events for classroom teachers across all sectors of language teaching.
CILT Publications
CILT Publications
In common with other CILT services, our publications cover the full range of language teaching interests. We pride ourselves on our coverage of current issues and debates as well as on the practical advice and support our publications provide for teachers in the classroom.
MFL Bulletin
MFL Bulletin
MFL is for all who teach languages in secondary schools. It provides practical information and advice, inspiration and food for thought. MFL is published at the beginning of each term. A PDF version of the MFL bulletin is made available for downloading on the CILT website one month after publication.
Linguanet forum
The linguanet-forum is an e-mail discussion group for all those involved in language teaching and research. The aim of the forum is to enable discussion and information exchange on the subject of the teaching of modern foreign languages, primarily in schools and sixth forms in the UK.
