The Suffolk Transition project for 2008-09 has entailed four of
the previous case studies being extended. This interactive guidance
package is intended to support primary, middle and secondary MFL
subject leaders in ensuring progression in pupils' language
learning through the key stages.
The purpose of the project is to provide an interactive tool for
subject leaders using one key document called ‘Ensuring
progression’. This document contains hyperlinks to all the other
projects, so that if, for example, a subject leader is thinking
about assessment, he/she can click on the link and automatically
get online advice, resources, video footage and so on.
Impact
Suffolk teachers are aware of
appropriate advice for Transfer and Transition issues and the
support available. They are talking about the key issues in their
schools and are making use of the examples from the website.
Teachers are starting to look at assessment in a more systematic
way and have a raised awareness of the different possibilities.
Schools are beginning to shift from knowledge about coverage to
knowledge about what individuals know, understand and can do. To
access this and new resources prepared during the second year of
the project please visit Suffolk
County Council school-portal website. You can access full report
