Dissemination of the standards for working with people from different countries or diverse cultures
Further Information
The new standards have been promoted widely across the 4 nations of the UK between September 2008 and March 2009 as part of a UKCES- funded dissemination project. Events for key stakeholders were held in London, Manchester, Belfast, Glasgow and Cardiff. CILT continues to meet with organisations and sector bodies to explore and develop applications of the standards. Standards can be used to inform policy and procedures, plan recruitment, identify training needs and standardise practice.
To explore how the standards can be used in your organisation, contact: Cherry Sewell, Head of Skills, Business & Adult Learning at CILT. A handy pocket-sized version of the standards has now been published and can be ordered from Katherine Evans
CILT as the UK Standards Setting Body for Intercultural Skills plans to develop a qualification structure and assessment strategy for these new standards in collaboration with Awarding Bodies. We hope that these will be available by end 2009.
In 2009 CILT plans to develop new training products based on the Standards. News of developments will be posted here.
