The Registered Teacher Programme (RTP) combines work-based
teacher training with academic study. It enables non-graduates with
some experience of higher education to gain a degree and qualify as
a teacher. Your training provider works with a local higher
education institution to devise a programme of training that is
tailored to your needs. The RTP generally takes two years and leads
to
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
