Teach First is a programme run by an independent organisation. It enables high level graduates to spend two years working in challenging secondary schools, qualifying to teach and also completing leadership training and work experience. Teach First leads to Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) but also provides the potential to develop a commercially oriented career.

Entry requirements:

• UK Bachelor’s degree 2:1 or above, or recognised equivalent, in a National Curriculum subject. If your degree is from another country, check whether it is recognised with the training provider or UK NARIC.
• 300 UCAS points, excluding General Studies, or recognised equivalent. If your qualifications are from another country, check whether they are recognised with the training provider or UK NARIC.

Funding:

• During the first year of training, you receive point 3 of the unqualified teacher pay scale.
• During the second year of training, you receive a Newly Qualified Teacher (NQT) salary.
