All entrants to initial teacher training must
have a maths GCSE (A*-C) or equivalent qualification.
The most common equivalent qualifications
are:
- France: any grade
between 10–20 in Maths at Baccalauréat. If you took “Enseignement
scientifique” as part of a Bac L, you must provide written proof
that the final examination was in Maths. (Note that maths at
Brevet de College level is not accepted as a GCSE equivalent.)
- Germany: any grade between
4-15 in Maths at Abitur or any grade between 1-4 in Maths at
Year 10
- Italy: minimum 60%in maths at Esame di
Stato
- Spain: any grade
between 6-10 (bien, notable, sobresaliente) in Maths at Graduado en
Educación Secundaria Obligatoria (ESO)
- China: Senior High School
Diploma (grade A-C)
- European: European Baccalaureate

- International: IGCSE minimum grade C
- UK: Adult numeracy qualification level 2
