Your trainee:
- As native speakers of their main teaching language, trainees
bring a wealth of linguistic and cultural know-how to your
classroom.
- All trainees are graduates. Many have Masters level
qualifications
- All trainees have a high level of spoken and written
English
- Most trainees have experience of teaching in England, their own
country or another country
- Schools may choose a trainee from among those pre-selected at
interview by CILT, or may apply to train their own candidate
- Most trainees on the GTP for mother-tongue speakers of
French, German, Italian and Spanish offer a second teaching
language in addition to their mother-tongue. All trainees on this
programme offer French to at least elementary level.
“Recruitment and selection arrangements are outstanding [and]
support the selection of high quality trainees.”
